Thank you to everyone who joined us online and in person for the Annual General Meeting on Friday 26 November 2021.
We had a great event celebrating the successes of the organisation and our members throughout the past year.
We would also like to say a special thank you to our guest speaker, Kyle Loades, Chair of Active Super.
Chris Soulsby from Byron Shire Council was announced as the winner of our Delegate of the Year Award, and Chris was presented with his Award by LGEA President, Bede Spannagle and LGEA Lead Organiser Justine McCarthy.
Chris is a well deserving winner. He is a long standing and experienced delegate. Here is what a member had to say about Chris - “Chris always has time to offer advice, listen to members and explain complex regulations to staff. He always acts in a professional manner. All staff think very highly of Chris is both his council role and delegate role. I personally couldn’t ask for more from my union delegate.”
Tweed Shire Council was announced as the LGEA Employer of Choice for 2021.
Tweed Shire Council General Manager, Troy Green and Suzanne Richmond, Human Resources Manager, were presented with the Award by Kyle Loades, Chair of Active Super and Committee of Management Member Dave Banwell.
Now in it’s seventh year, the LGEA Employer of Choice Award aims to highlight good employment practices within NSW local government, particularly those that are designed to attract and retain engineers and other professionals within council organisations. It is also designed to identify and reward local government organisations that have developed good relationships with the LGEA at the workplace level by valuing and respecting our members and providing support to our local delegates.
