Riverina Water County Council was named the third annual LGEA Employer of Choice last November, following a nomination campaign and a strict assessment process.
The award is designed to highlight outstanding employment practices within NSW local government – particularly those that are thoughtfully put in place to attract and retain engineers and other technical professionals within Council organisations.
The award also identifies and rewards local government organisations that have developed successful and strong relationships with the LGEA at a workplace level. These relationships are demonstrated through valuing and respecting our members and providing extensive support to local delegates.
Although the panel of judges were impressed by all nominees, Riverina Water County Council took the award due to its above the mark rates of pay, a commitment to the health and wellbeing of staff and, above all else, in its deep commitment to the engineering profession and the professional development of its engineering and technical workforce. Support is also provided to members to attain and maintain professional registration including RPEng.
