The LGEA is proud to be a registered employee representative organisation and a member of the Australian Council of Trade Unions.
The LGEA, Professionals Australia and the ACTU have a long and proud history of winning improved pay and conditions for members over our long history. Recently our association was part of the fight for increases to paid maternity leave and the introduction of family violence leave as industry standards.
May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, is a celebration of the trade union movement and what it has achieved for workers. Each year, millions of workers around the world take to the streets to celebrate workplace rights that have been hard fought for and won – like penalty rates, annual leave, superannuation and redundancy benefits.
This year May Day will be held as a family fun day to recognise the importance of a work life balance in an national workforce that is facing longer times at work, lower pay increases and the rise of unsecure work. The day will include free food and rides for LGEA members and their families.
We invite all members to attend the May Day Family Fun Day with their coworkers and family from 11am on Sunday 5th May at Hyde Park North.
If you require any further information, please contact Tom Raue at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you at May Day.
